CeraSport sponsored Adventures for the Cure supports DESTINY Camp for kids with diabetes.

May 18, 2015

"I am about a week late in posting this but wanted to share an update on the DESTINY Camp that AFC supports.

As you may know Diabetes DESTINY is a group that organizes an annual weekend camp for kids with type 1 diabetes. I can attest to the profound impact you have had on some amazing kids.

It is tough to recognize people with diabetes from the outside but it takes a huge amount of work to manage that disease every day. The kids that attended the camp were supported by a great team of volunteers and a full medical staff. For many of the younger kids, it was their first time spending the night away from their parents.

I have shared some of the feedback we have already received from parent and also other volunteers. Please take just a minute to appreciate the results of what we, the AFC team, can help accomplish.

Anyone interested in volunteering, please let me know. It is a blast. check out the Diabetes DESTINY facebook page for pics.

Thank you,

John Boyer"

Matthew had another great year. Thank you Ron DeNunzio for all you do to keep this going and thank you to everyone else who takes time from their schedules to help out.”

“thank you for Alan's first camp experience - it was a 10 out of 10! he loved the food (he went on and on about the food), the kids, the activities, the counselors, the cabins, everything! for me, i loved the pics posted all weekend so we could be the fly on the wall, and i loved seeing his smiling face when i picked him up today. see you all next year!”

From the volunteers-

Kudos to the founders of the Extreme Adventure Camp and everyone who makes it such a success. What an incredible experience for all the children, not to mention how rewarding it was for our family to volunteer.”
