"Oral rehydration therapy (ORT), is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for dehydration associated with diarrheal illness and involves the use of oral rehydration solutions (ORS), including the recommended WHO formulation consisting of the oral rehydration glucose-salt formula.6 ORT can reduce the need for IV hydration therapy, preventing such serious complications from occurring.
